Playgrounds in Port Charlotte
Play at a park with a view at Bayshore Live Oak Park
This playground is right on the Peace River which makes for a beautiful backdrop when the kids are playing. We went in the evening so we caught some of the sunset.
The playground is a lot of fun and there is also a fishing pier if you want to take the kiddos fishing. There is a big picnic area as well.
The Kids Space Playground is so much fun! The equipment is set up so kids can feel like they are ready for lift off! Click the link above for more pictures and a video tour! We loved it! And it has the coolest parent/child co-swing! I love this place.
The playground has two part- one for younger kids and one that has more climbing structures for older kids. I love when there are options because when my kids were little it was hard to keep them from climbing.
The playground areas are shaded with big oak trees. And there are picnic tables for the parents. It’s a great park! Definitely check it out.
Splash parks in Port Charlotte
The Splash Park area at McGuire Park in Port Charlotte is so neat. It isn’t just water squirting up from the ground like a lot of the local splash parks, but it has fun equipment that kids can run through and squirt with. It also has a bucket that drops water every so many minutes. The kids love that! This will keep kids entertained for hours! Make sure you bring your sunscreen.
Other outdoor activities in Port Charlotte
See a baseball game at the Charlotte Stone Crabs Stadium
The Stone Crabs play minor league baseball during the late spring and summer seasons. The games are a lot of fun and they have a fun playground for the kids. Our favorite thing about the games is the playground inside the stadium. It’s so awesome because the kids can play and the parents can keep an eye on the kids and the game at the same time. It’s great! If you are looking for something fun to do in Port Charlotte with kids, this is definitely something to check out!
Don’t forget this is seasonal! So check out their game schedule before heading over.
It’s open to families but there isn’t a children’s section, just a big pool to swim in, which is still a lot of fun.

There are all kinds of shows, symphonies, classes and more offered at the Cultural Center in Port Charlotte. Order tickets before you go!
Play at a fun and HUGE play place at Kid Star
The play place is at least four stories high and has tubes that wind, ball pits, and more for the kids to play in! They also have an arcade.
It is in the flea market in Port Charlotte and the first time we visited we definitely thought we were in the wrong place. It’s a hidden gem! The kids will love it and there is free wifi!
There is a really fun children’s section at the Mid County Regional Library. We have attended many kid’s programs there as well that were a lot of fun!
Take the kids bowling at Treasure Lanes
Bowling is always a great family fun night! My kids love bowling at Treasure Lanes, but they LOVE the arcade that is located there as well.

Laishley Park and Splash Park in Punta Gorda
This is a great park right on the harbor, so it has an amazing backdrop while the kids play on the playground or in the splash park.
