We discovered another southwest Florida gem! The Peace River Wildlife Center is a definite must see! Also, it’s free to the public and it’s next to an adorable park, beach, and nature trail. It’s so fun!
The Peace River Wildlife Center is home to several different kinds of birds including pelicans, owls, and even bald eagles. It is so fun to see all of them and learn more about each breed.
Here are a few of our pictures….
There were so many beautiful pelicans. They were so neat to see up close. They are way bigger than I give them credit for!
This is the bald eagle that totally captured our hearts. A bald eagle, ya’ll! A BALD EAGLE! Need I say more?
We went with a bunch of friends and many of them are homeschoolers so one of the volunteers took a lot of time to talk to all of us and answer the kid’s questions. It was really neat.
The Peace River Wildlife Center is located at 3400 Ponce de Leon Pkwy. in Punta Gorda. They are open from 11AM-4PM Sunday through Saturday. After your visit, cross the parking lot and take a walk on the boardwalk at Ponce de Leon park!
