This is a special month at Walt Disney World. If you visit, you will have a chance to experience Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays and it is magical!
Each of the Walt Disney World parks is decorated and beautiful this time of year! It’s such a wonderful time to visit. It really puts you in the Christmas spirit! But Epcot has lots of new things to offer this season that you will love!
I had the opportunity to get a sneak peek of Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays and I am excited to share with you what to expect when you go to Epcot this month.
Epcot is known for it’s delicious food and drinks throughout the park. There will be yummy food, desserts, and drinks at Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays. Visit the different countries throughout the World Showcase to get a taste of what various cultures eat and drink during the Christmas season.
I got to test out the smoked salmon potatoe cake latke from Germany. It was good! If you don’t like crunchy, you may not like it, because it had onions and celery (I think), but I thought it was great.
Also in Germany we tried the Pork Schnitzel with mushroom sauce and spatzel. This was my favorite. Very yummy. The noodles were homemade and very different from American noodles, but so yummy and definitely worth trying!
In Canada you can get a delicious soft pretzel roll and warm up with their tasty Canadian Wild Rice and Ham soup. the soup has almonds in it so if you have an allergy just keep that in mind.
In Norway you can stop by and see Anna and Elsa in their new Frozen 2 outfits and also grab one of these delicious cupcakes! It was a wonderful, chocolatey treat!
While visiting Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays you definitely need to stop by Mexico in the World Showcase and listen to the great Feliz Navidad show. They are so talented. It was really neat to listen to. They did music and dancing! A definite must-see!
In China you can catch a great Chinese tradition of Lion Dancers! I got to preview this show and it was really neat. These dancers are very talented.
In America (which is in the very center of the World Showcase) you can catch the very talented “Joyful” Band. They are so good! You will get a glimpse of Christmas R&B type music. I definitely recommend stopping by for this show! Check the map for showtimes!
Kids can visit Father Christmas in the United Kingdom pavilion in the World Showcase. He was so jolly and the perfect picture of Christmas time.
These are the shows I got to check out, but there are things to see at each country in the world showcase!
Holiday Cookie Stroll
There will be a Festival Passport, kind of like what they use during the Food and Wine Festival that you can use during the Holiday Cookie Stroll at Epcot. Stop in at the pavilion in Germany, America, Canada, Mexico and between Morocco and France for sweet treats!
Once you get all five stamps you can bring your passport to the Sweet & Treats Holiday Kitchen to get a complimentary Santa Mickey Sugar Cookie!
Chip & Dale’s Christmas Scavenger Hunt
Go on a Chip & Dale themed scavenger hunt, collecting ornaments for their Christmas tree!
To do this fun scavenger hunt, you have to purchase a map (for $6.99) and stickers from select merchandise locations.
Stop at each World Showcase pavilion to find Chip & Dale looking for ornaments then add the ornament sticker to your map. Once it’s complete, take your completed map to Disney Traders or World Traveler and exchange it for a festive surprise!
Living with the Land- Merry & Bright Nights
My favorite ride in all of Disney is Soarin’ but the runner up is Living with the Land, which happens to be in the same building as Soarin’. And this month, you can see Living with the Land all lit up in the evenings for their Merry & Bright nights!
It is beautiful seeing the greenhouse all lit up with Christmas lights. I just love seeing it that way!
Merchandise to look for!
I could spend a lot of money on Disney merchandise because it is oh, so cute! And during the holidays it is even cuter! I got a sneak peek of some fun merchandise to look out for while you visit Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays. Here are a few of my favorite things….
Chip & Dale merchandise
There are a bunch of cute Chip & Dale merchandise to look for, such as this adorable purse….
I also loved the clothing and ornaments. There are a lot of Christmas things to choose from for all budgets! You don’t have to spend a ton of money to get something cute!
Frozen 2 merchandise
Frozen 2 is all the rage this season. And there are lots of things you can buy to help your “Frozen Fever.” I saw cute clothes, princess dresses, a play castle, dolls, and more.
They even had Frozen 2 jewelry and that beautiful aqua Disney band! I loved that!
Extras for your Disney Vacation
I had no idea Disney did this, but you can have them decorate your resort room for Christmas (or any occasion) if you are staying on Disney property. I love this idea because if you come during the holidays, you can still have a Christmas tree, stockings, and lots of other options!
All you have to do is contact Disney Floral & Gifts at (407) 827-3505 and order what you would like. They have all kinds of things you can order from Christmas trees to flowers, balloon arrangements, cookies and more!
This isn’t just a Christmas thing, you can do this all year long for any occasion!
Disney always goes above and beyond to make each and every visitor feel special- and this is all year long! Each park is decorated and special at Christmas so I suggest visiting all four this season, but put Epcot at the top of your list. There are so many fun things going on during the Festival of the Holidays event.
