I have two young kids who absolutely love Halloween! They love dressing up, they love playing games at fall festivals, and most of all they love all the candy!
In the past, my kids have received so much candy that we didn’t even get through it all and I finally tossed it. Candy is yummy, but so bad for them and so bad for their teeth.
So this year, we decided to get on the bandwagon of going the healthier route. Actually, let me make this a little more realistic. Mommy decided we were going to be more healthy- the kids definitely didn’t come up with that one.
We don’t get a ton of trick-or-treaters at our house, but we do get our neighborhood friends that specifically stop by to show us their costumes before heading to one of the many fall events around southwest Florida so we always give them a little treat for their Halloween bags.
This year we are giving out Slammers Superfood Snacks. Also known as- fruit pouches! In my family they are actually labeled those yummy things in the bottom crisper of the fridge that the kids can grab without me having to get up.
You can put a bunch of Slammers Snacks in a basket or bowl and hand them out to the kids that come to your door Halloween night, but we took it a step further. We “spooked” our Slammers out! Here’s the easy way to decorate your Slammers Snacks for Halloween….
We did ghosts, pumpkins, and bat covers for our Slammers. I used orange paper for the pumpkins, white for the ghosts, and black for the bats. I didn’t use a template for any of them but kind of “eyed” it. Each was about 3.5″ long and then 8.5″ wide.
On the first fold over I did tape the paper to the actual slammer so the cover didn’t slide off of it.
Next, add the faces and your done! Cute, festive and HEALTHY alternative to candy for trick-or-treaters! PS. The bat wings don’t wrap around. I just added tape and taped it to the back of the Slammer Snack!
I’m telling you, the kids that come ringing your doorbell on Halloween will love these- and the parents will love you even more!
