Looking for a great place to take family pictures? There are so many amazing places to take pictures around southwest Florida. Your photographer will have suggestions, but if you are still unsure or if you are doing your own family portraits, we have a few ideas for places you should go to get a great background.

Best places to take pictures on Boca Grande

Banyan Street 

Banyan Street on Boca Grande has the most beautiful trees! It’s a great background for family pictures. We always take out of town guests to this spot and end up taking pictures every time!

Gasperilla Island State Park

We love this beach! It’s a great spot for pictures with the beach in the background.

Sam Murphy Park

This is a small park off of Park Ave. There is a cute fountain that is a perfect spot for pictures.

Best places to take pictures in Englewood

Stump Pass Beach Park

You can take pictures with the Gulf of Mexico in the background or the Intercoastal waterway on the other side at Stump Pass Beach Park. Take your pick! We love this park. There are so many spots along the trail for great pictures.

Indian Mound Park

This is a cute park with the water in the background. I like Indian Mound Park because it’s not an actual beach so the kids won’t get too sandy and dirty, but you still get the beach pictures.

Places to take pictures in Fort Myers

Lakes Regional Park

There is a really pretty boardwalk at Lakes Regional Park that would be a perfect spot for taking pictures. And then the kids will love playing on the fun, train themed playground afterwards.

Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve

There are so many great spots for pictures along the boardwalk at Six Mile Cypress Slough. If your lucky, you may even get an alligator in the background of one of your pictures!

Manatee Park

This is a great park for pictures with water in the background. It’s also known for spotting manatees, so maybe you can catch a manatee in the background of your picture!

Best places to take pictures in North Port

McKibben Park

Not a ton of trees atMcKibben Park, but a really pretty lake for basic pictures. And the kids can play at the playground after- win/win!

Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park

Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park is not only a great place to walk or hike in North Port, but there are so many great photo spots as well. It’s located at 6968 Reisterstown Rd. in North Port.

Best places to take pictures in Port Charlotte

Bayshore Live Oak Park

This is a cute park with lots of photo spots with the water in the background. You can take pictures in front of the water or on the fishing pier.

Best places to take pictures in Punta Gorda

Laishley Park

This park is gorgeous. Seriously gorgeous. There are so many great photo ops with the water and boats in the background. Definitely head over to Laishley Park for some great family photos.

Ponce de Leon Park

There is a gorgeous boardwalk at Ponce de Leon Park that is great for photo ops. It’s not very long, but it’s big enough where you can have both the water in the background and mangroves! There’s also a beach in the same park that you can walk over to and get a different background for pictures.

Best places to take pictures in Sarasota

Arlington Park

There is a beautiful walking path at Arlington park with a bridge that would be perfect for family pictures.

Statue at St. Armands Circle

St. Armands is so pretty! We just love walking around there. There are some great photo spots but especially in front of the kissing sailor and nurse statue.

Bayfront Park

Bayfront park is right on the bay in Sarasota and it is so pretty! You can get family pictures done with the water in the background and the city of Sarasota in the background as well.

Celery Fields

Celery Fields is a great spot for pictures! It’s a big hill and if you can hike to the top without messing up your hair it would make a great photo op!

Myakka State Park

The scenery is gorgeous at Myakka State Park. There are so many fun spots to take pictures, just take your pick!

Siesta Key Beach

You can’t go wrong with the sandy white beach scene at Siesta Key Beach. What a great spot to share not only your family but the gorgeous scenery of where we live!

The boardwalk at Urfer Family Park

There is a cute boardwalk at Urfer Family Park where you could take family pictures with the big oak trees in the background.

Best places to take pictures in Venice

Under the pier on Venice Beach

Just walk under the pier at Venice Beach for great pictures. It’s such a neat place for family pictures and it gives such a fun, beachy feel to your pictures.
