There are some wonderful parks and playgrounds in Sarasota, but one of our favorites is Bayfront Park. It is on the water, so it makes for a beautiful background view! It has a great playground, splash park, sidewalks near the water, and lots of grassy area for picnics.
As always, I will list pros and cons so you know what to expect when you visit Bayfront Park.
Why we loved Bayfront Park
The View at Bayfront Park is beautiful
You have the Sarasota Bay and the Ringling bridge on one side of the park and the Sarasota city skyline on the other side. It’s absolutely beautiful.

The Bayfront Park playground is a lot of fun
My kids loved the playground at Bayfront Park, It’s big and it has a fence around it, which I love! There were a lot of parts to it where they could climb and run around a play.
Here are a few pictures…

The Splash Park at Bayfront Park is fun
There is a splash park directly next to the playground at Bayfront Park. So the kids can go back and forth between the two. There isn’t much to it but it’s a great way to cool off in this Southwest Florida heat.

The sidewalk around Bayfront Park is a great walk
We love strolling (is that still a word people use?) around the sidewalk at Bayfront Park. There are lots of spots to stop and sit and enjoy the view along the way as well.

Things we don’t like about Bayfront Park
Parking can be hectic
Especially in season (December through April) parking at Bayfront Park is nearly impossible. It’s jam-packed! We usually end up parking at the furthest end possible which makes for a long walk.
The Splash Park isn’t always open
Several times when we have visited Bayfront Park the splash park wasn’t open because it closes early or for other various reasons. Just be sure to check out the website before you head over in hopes to cool off at the Bayfront Splash Park.
Overall, we love this park! It’s such a great place to go for a family outing. We also love taking out of town guests to Bayfront Park so they can see the beautiful views of Sarasota.
