We visited Atwater Community Park several times this summer and we love it! We are suckers for splash parks and this one has that and a playground! The things I love about splash parks is that we can be outside in this crazy southwest Florida heat and stay cool in the water, I don’t have to go all the way in the water as a parent, and the kids can run out their energy!
So Atwater Community Park is a big hit for us! It’s located in North Port right by the baseball fields, which is great for parents with kids playing baseball during the season. It also has a playground connected to it.
I always want true opinions as a parent, so here are my pro’s and con’s about Atwater Community Park:
~ It’s clean!
~ The playground is directly next to the splash park so you don’t have to move all your stuff to go from one to the other.
~ There are tables if you want to bring lunch.
~ The playground is unique and fun. It’s a baseball theme which is cute since it’s next to a baseball field.
~ There is a lot of parking right next to the splash and playground area.
~ There are restrooms
~ There isn’t any shade.
~ The playground is great for kids 5 and up, but not really good for young kids. It has a lot of climbing things, but nothing for the little ones.
~ The mulch in the playground can be annoying when going back and forth to the splash park.
Here are a few of our pictures:
We have a lot of fun when we go to Atwater Splash Park! We have gone when it has been super busy and we have been there when it is just us. It just depends on the day! It is open every day from 10AM until sunset.
