5 Reasons we Love Englewood Beach

April 11, 2016 By aligilbert83 Leave a Comment

I love the beach. I love the sounds, the atmosphere, everything! In southwest Florida there are a whole bunch of beaches to choose from. And we have tried a lot of them. Check out what we thought of Siesta Key Beach by clicking here.

We live closest to Englewood Beach so we tend to hit that one a lot more often. However, even if we didn’t live close we would still choose this beach as one of our favorites. Here are 5 reasons why we LOVE Englewood Beach….oh, and read all the way to the bottom because I have a fun **video** at the end!!!!
Englewood Beach1. Shells & shark teeth for days
There are so many shells at this beach. AND shark teeth (I totally just typed that “Sharks teeth”…why do I say it like that??). So many shark teeth. We found 5 shark teeth in the matter of 10 minutes. Seriously. It’s a great place to start a collection. Here are a few pictures of the my husband helping Maggie look for shells and shark teeth…

2. It’s not THAT crowded
Don’t get me wrong, it can get crowded. Especially in season (Jan. through April) it may be very difficult to find a parking spot. BUT out of season it’s really low key and less crowded. It’s not like the bigger beaches that are busy all year long. We love that about it.

3. The boardwalk
The boardwalk is great! It goes all along the beach and has several outlets onto the beach. It’s very clean and has a main spot for bathrooms too. They also have water showers for your feet and body once you get off the beach. Those are really helpful before you jump in your car with sand all over you.

4. The Playground
The have a playground for the kids and basketball hoops too. Very family friendly recreation. We love that about it.

5. The sunset.
Watching the sun set on the water is just breathtaking. I lived in Virginia Beach for a long time and it was beautiful, but the sun rose on the east ….so I never made it out early in the morning to watch it come up over the water. To watch the sun set on the water is awesome. I love that about the Gulf of Mexico.

We hope you have as much fun as we do at Englewood Beach. It’s definitely one you will want to check out! Here are a few pictures from our last trip and a VIDEO:
