Beaches near Englewood
Build a sand castle at Englewood Beach or play at the Englewood Beach Park which is now shaded!
We love Englewood Beach! There are tons of seashells and sharks teeth to find. Plus there is a fun, shaded playground and lots of picnic areas to eat. But parking can be a bit of a problem during the winter months when it is busy, so if you are local I suggest going in the summer and avoiding the crowds.
Walk the trails at Stump Pass Beach State Park
We LOVE Stump Pass Beach Park! It is a great place to hang out at the beach, but we love going there to walk the trail. It has the intercoastal on one side of the trail and the Gulf of Mexico on the other side of the trail. Click the link above to hop over and check out our video tour! It’s a great place to go with the kids! My favorite time to go is in the morning and walking the trail for exercise.
Check out one of the many Boca Grande beaches
The beach on Boca Grande is our favorite beach in Southwest Florida. Just a matter of opinion, but the sand is whiter and the water is SO blue!
Libraries near Englewood that are fun for kids
Visit the Englewood Library and then play at the Tringali playground next door
The Englewood library is a great place to go to find books for the kids. The children’s section isn’t as big as the Elsie Quirk library, but they do have fun programs in the summer for kids.
The Elsie Quirk library is technically a Sarasota county library but it’s in Englewood and it has a great children’s section
We love this library over by Dearborn Road. It has a great children’s section and lots of fun classes.

Eat a picnic lunch at Indian Mound Park
This is actually a boat ramp park but we like to go and just park and throw rocks and shells into the water. There are picnic tables all around, but no playground. It’s a simple, but cute place to go for a quick trip to see the water.

This playground is so much fun! It is a military theme with lots of play and climbing equipment, swings, and a great spongy flooring. We loved it but one thing we had a little issue with is that there isn’t a ton of shade. Make sure to bring the sunblock so the kids don’t get too much sun.

Splash in the gated kids area of the Ann Dever Regional Pool
We love the Ann Dever Regional pool. It’s $3 per person to get in and there is a big pool and then a kid’s area that is gated. They also have zero entrance and have cute splash equipment. This pool a great place to go to cool off but call before you go to make sure that section of the pool is open because they have certain hours.
