I don’t know if I have ever mentioned this, but my family and I love football. We also love to eat. So football parties are the perfect thing for us because we can do both at the same time. This year, since we couldn’t be at the actual game, I decided to bring the game to us by creating the ultimate snack stadium.
This snack stadium was super fun and EASY to set up. So even the busy mom can whip it up for the perfect display at your football party. Here is how I did it….
STEP 1: I reused those leftover Christmas boxes that clothes came in to make the stands. We got a whole bunch of them so I figured I would put them to good use instead of throwing them in the trash. I took two 14″ x 9″ boxes and I divided each of them into three long strips.
Make sure you cut the lip of the box too because you will need that to make it stand up.
STEP 2: Once you cut the box into three long, equal pieces, you can get rid of the middle piece. You will only need the two end pieces. Put them together and then use tape to seal the deal to make a skinnier “box” for the stands.
STEP 3: You will need to do this 3 times to make three different boxes and then stack two boxes for the higher stand in the back and one in the front.
STEP 4: I used smaller boxes for the two side stands (You totally don’t have to use smaller boxes…the bigger the boxes the more food you can fit into it, but I thought the small boxes fit better on the sides of the football field). I used 11″ x 9″ boxes and did the same thing with those to make another set of stands. I needed a total of 6 of these shorter boxes because I did stands on the left and right sides of the field.
STEP 5: Next I put scrapbook paper that looked like a football field in the middle of my snack stadium.
STEP 6: I used Dixie cups to put the snacks in, but I wasn’t a big fan (ha- no pun intended) of the pastel colors that my cups came decorted as. So I used football scrapbook paper and brown scrapbook paper to cover each cup. It looked like this:
STEP 7: You will need Mason Jars for the Pepsi™ drinks. I used white copy paper to make the thread of a football. Then when you pour the Pepsi™ in the mason jar it looks like a football. Totally adorable! Those were on my sidelines, by the way.
Simple and fun! So now I needed to fill my ULTIMATE stadium with ULTIMATE snacks! To do this, I went to Walmart and bought our favorite snacks!
This was my grocery list:
1. SNICKERS® Fun Size Variety Pack
2. Skittles® XL bag
3. Pepsi™ 12 pack of the cans (one can per mason jar)
4. TOSTITOS® Party Size Scoops
5. TOSTITOS® Medium Chunky Salsa
My shopping experience looked like this:
Then came the best part- filling the stadium up with the food!
PS. I love using the little cups because everyone can just grab it and go. They didn’t have to put their hands in (although I did have extra TOSTITOS® chips in football bowls on the outside of the stadium for people to get more of the yummy goodness).
I also used Skittles® to make team plays on the scrapbook paper football field. Just to add a cute touch to the whole display.
And that, my friends, is how you make the ultimate snack stadium for your next football party! Looking for more inspiration for your football party? Check out these!
How will you be celebrating the big game this year?
