With all of these snow days, we have had to find some fun things to do around the house with a toddler! That can be difficult. Cabin Fever sets in like 2 hours into the snowday, ya’ll. This is not easy! So, we were on the hunt to find things to do while stuck inside.
That’s how we got to painting the snow….
We spent a lot of time outside playing in the snow. But that can be super exhausting. So we decided to bring the snow INSIDE this time. I got a little bin and went out with a sand shovel (yes, I use my resources!) and shoveled some snow into the bin.
Next I filled four cups with water and added a couple drops of food coloring to each to make green, yellow, red, and blue.
I laid down some newspaper on the table, got a paint brush, and let Maggie go to town with her artistic side. She had a blast (although you can’t tell from the expression on her face- how do you get this kid to smile for pictures?!).
I also let her try spraying the snow with spray bottles, but that one didn’t work as well for us. Maybe older kiddos would like this option better. Maggie couldn’t really squeeze the squirter and when she did it went on the wall instead of the snow.
Happy Snow Day!
