It’s the start of Memorial Day weekend! Time to get the grill out, go grocery shopping, and try on those old bathing suits. It is really easy to get wrapped up in the busyness of the weekend, but don’t forget to let your kids in on why we celebrate Memorial Day. It’s not just a day off of school, but a day to remember those military men and women that died serving our country! It is so very important to remember these special people!
Get your kids involved in Memorial Day by sending a thank you card to a person in the military, taking time to remember those who died serving, or by doing some fun Memorial Day arts and crafts.
Here is a fun art project for the kiddos that I found on B-Inspired Mama! I thought it was such a cute idea!
This is what the cute hand paint craft looked like in the end!
First you need to get your paint together. We did 3 different paint brushes for the three colors: red, white, and blue. You have to be kind of quick when you paint it on so it doesn’t dry, so I didn’t bother with cleaning the brush and then using it in the next color. We just used three brushes.
This is what his hand looked like after we had it all painted. Then he just pressed it onto white paper. It looked just like a flag! After it dried, we pasted it only red paper so it had a nice border. It was a simple, quick, fun Memorial Day project!
