Things to do in Sarasota with kids
The list of fun activities in Sarasota goes on and on. From bouncing at Sky Zone Sarasota, to visiting Siesta Key beach, and family friendly events in Sarasota going on all the time, you will not be sorry you took your kids out exploring! Arlington Park and Aquatic Center in Sarasota
Take the kids swimming or play at the playground at Arlington Park & Aquatic Center. This Aquatic Center is so cool! It does have an admission to get in but the kids will love the water slides and pool. The playground is awesome too. It has a lot of shade and they have an exercise section next to it too. We also love walking the trail around Arlington Park. There is a beautiful bridge that makes for a great photo op.
Payne Park in Sarasota
Pretend you are in the Circus at Circus Playground Payne Park. This playground is AWESOME! If you have young kids, you have to try this park out! It is huge and it is like you are inside a circus. It’s a lot of fun! Click the link to see more pictures!
Hunsader Farms in Bradenton
Pick fresh produce at Hunsader Farms. Hunsader Farms is a great place to visit in every season. They always have fun family events happening. They have pumpkin festivals in the fall, Christmas events, and something for every season. It’s a lot of fun.
Play arcade games at Livingston’s Amusement Center. You can also play pool, grab a drink or eat a whole meal. It’s always a fun time at Livingston’s. They are located at 5947 Clark Rd. in Sarasota.
Go on a kayaking tour through the mangroves with Kayaking SRQ Tours and Rentals. Kayaking is SO much fun! I highly suggest trying it out. It’s a great way to see some local nature.
Play putt-putt at Smugglers Cove. Putt-Putt is always a lot of fun for the family! There are several locations of Smugglers Cove around Southwest Florida. So check out their website to see more locations!
Beach Snoballs in St. Armand’s Circle

Things to do in Venice with Kids
Splash in the Venice splash park at Centennial Park. In Florida, splash parks are a must! My kids love running around in the water. The Centennial Splash park is located on Venice island. It’s small, but cute and the kids can play in the water for hours!
North Jetty on Venice Island
Take a walk out on the Venice South and North Jetties. The Jetties are a great place to do some fishing and even a picnic lunch or dinner and watch the sunset. We almost always see dolphins at the Jetties too!
See a movie at B&B Galleria Theatre in Venice
We love this theater in Venice. It used to be called Franks Theater but they changed hands recently and are redoing a lot inside. It’s a very nice theater.
Let the kids play at a fun shaded park at Caspersen Beach Park. This is a cute little playground on Venice Island. After you play, cross the street over to Venice beach and cool off in the Gulf!
Make a sand castle at Venice Beach
The beach is always a great idea! It’s free and fun! Kids can have fun looking for sharks teeth and shells too!

Things to do in North Port with kids
Let the kids play on the playground at McKibben Park
McKibben Park is a cute park right on a lake. Beautiful background for pictures. It’s also shaded- which we love in the summer heat and sun. Be careful of alligators though! This park is in North Port!
Splash at the splash pad or play at the playground at Atwater Park
We love Atwater Park because it is a playground AND a splash park! The playground is, in my opinion, for older kids because there is a lot of climbing equipment and toddlers could fall. But overall, we love it. The splash park is connected to the playground so kids can go back and forth between the two.
Play on the playground at Blue Ridge Park. This is a cute little playground in North Port! Let the kids get their energy out at this playground- and it’s shaded!

This class is AMAZING! They also meet at libraries throughout the Sarasota library system. Definitely a must for toddlers- it’s so cute and fun.
The North Port Library has a great children’s section!
Definitely take the kiddos to the North Port library. They have lots of great classes and their children’s section has a lot of toys and great learning activities.

Let the kids play at Dallas White Park
Dallas White Park has been a go-to playground for years in North Port. It has a fun playground with shade and a lot of parking.
Tot Time at the Mullen Center
There is a room set up at the Mullen Center with giant blocks, cars, and lots of ways to entertain toddlers. It’s also a great rainy day activity in North Port.
Horizon Gymnastics in North Port is fun for kids of all ages!
This is a great place for the kids to take classes! On Thursday mornings they have an open gym for kids ages 0-5 which is $8 for non-members and $6 for members. My son loves going there and running around and playing on all the equipment.

Play on the playground at Blue Ridge Park
Blue Ridge park in North Port is smaller than other parks in North Port but it’s still a lot of fun for the kids. They also have a great gazebo area for birthday parties.
Garden of the Five Senses
Another fun playground in North Port is Garden of the Five Senses. It is huge with a lot of fun playground sections for the kids.
Walk the trails at the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park
Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park is a great place to walk or hike in North Port. This is a great spot to see local wildlife.
The North Port Aquatic Center is a new, fun water park in North Port!
This is a seasonal water park that is a lot of fun for the whole family! North Port Residents have a discounted admission fee. They have slides, a lazy river and other fun water amenities.
Things to do in Englewood with kids
Charlotte county spans from Englewood to Port Charlotte. Though these are smaller towns, the fun things to do in Englewood and Port Charlotte are endless. From great restaurants to finding shells and sharks teeth at Englewood beach, there are lots of things to do with kids in Charlotte county.
- Splash around at the Ann Dever Regional Pool
They have a great kids section! It’s fenced in and they have a lot of splashy, fun things to do, plus it’s zero entry!
- Build a sand castle at Englewood Beach
We love the Englewood beach! It’s a fun place to take the kids and it’s one of our favorite sunset spots! It also has a great, shaded playground for kids!
- Have a picnic at Stump Pass Beach State Park
Stump Pass Beach Park is a great place to hike and fish or just relax on the beach.
- Rent a boat at Allure Boat Rentals
We rented a boat from Allure for my parent’s 60th birthday and we had such a great time. Great prices too!
- Eat a picnic lunch at Indian Mound Park
Indian Mound Park is a fun place we go for picnics. My son will throw shells in the water and we just hang out and enjoy the beautiful Southwest Florida weather!
- Play at the playground at Englewood Beach Park and then dip your toes in the ocean
- Play at the Ann Denver Memorial Park
- Our favorite ice cream shop is Made in the Shade in Englewood
They have an adorable atmosphere with delicious ice cream, shakes, sno cones and more!
- Let the kids run around at the Rotonda Park
This is a great shaded playground in Rotonda. They also have a walking trail where you can walk or ride bikes.
- Let the kids run around the play place at the Port Charlotte Mall

- The Elsie Quirk library has a great kids section.
The Elsie Quirk library is technically a Sarasota county library but it’s in Englewood and it has a great children’s section that the kids love. They also have a lot of programs the kids will love.

Things to do in Port Charlotte with kids
There are so many fun things do in Port Charlotte with kids and families. They have tons of events going on during every season of the year, but they also have fun places to visit including play places and playgrounds. Play at the McGuire Park playground and splash in the splash pad area.
We love McGuire Park in Port Charlotte. Out of all the playgrounds in Port Charlotte, this is honestly our favorite! It’s a playground and a splash park! Most of it is shaded and there are picnic tables for parents. There is a smaller playground for toddlers and a bigger one with more climbing structures for the older kids.
See a show at the Cultural Center
There are all kinds of shows, symphonies, classes and more offered at the Cultural Center in Port Charlotte. Order tickets before you go!
The Stone Crabs play minor league baseball during the late spring and summer seasons. The games are a lot of fun and they have a fun playground for the kids.
Play at the Bayshore Live Oak Park
We love this playground because it’s right on the Peace River so it has a beautiful background. It has picnic tables too and a little area where you can throw rocks into the water. There is also a pier where you can fish.
My kids love Kid Star! It’s a hidden gem at the flea market in Port Charlotte across from Target. They have three to four levels of play place tunnels, ball pits, and an arcade too.
Bowling is always a great family outing! They also have a great arcade at this bowling alley and the kids can win prizes.
This playground is a lot of fun. The equipment looks like a space rocket!
There is a great children’s section at the Mid-County Regional Library!
It’s open to families but there isn’t a children’s section, just a big pool to swim in, which is still a lot of fun.
Things to do in Punta Gorda with kids
We love this boardwalk. You can see the mangroves and the water and it’s just a really pretty, easy walk.
See local birds and other wildlife at the Peace River Wildlife Center
We LOVE the Peace River Wildlife Center! They have eagles, pelicans, owls and more! It’s small, but super fun, informative and best of all, FREE!
We love this splash park. Not only is it fun for the kids, but it has the water in the background which makes for a gorgeous picnic.
Go fishing at Live Oak Point
Live Oak Point is a great place to fish but also a great place to see the sunset.
Take a trip back in time at Military Heritage Museum
The South County Regional Park pool is huge and great for people of all ages.
There is a great children’s section at South County Regional Park pool. They have a zero entry pool, splash zones and more!

Things to do on Boca Grande Island with kids
- Visit the Boca Grande Farmers Market
This is a seasonal farmers market, so make sure you check out dates and times. It’s a lot of fun checking out the vendors and then head over to the beach afterwards!
- Take a ride down Banyan Street on Boca Grande
This is the most beautiful spot on Boca Grande. The big trees are so beautiful to see! It’s a great place to take guests too! Visit the beautiful Boca Grande Library
We LOVE the Boca Grande Library! It is so beautiful and unique. It’s the coolest library I have ever been to. The kids section is in it’s own building and it has an attached butterfly/reading building. It’s so cool!
- Rent kayaks that you can see through at Glass Bottom Kayaks
We have done this and it’s so cool. This is the best way to kayak.
- Rent a golf cart and drive around Boca Grande
- Visit the Port Boca Grande lighthouse museum
- Take the kids to the playground by the Gasperilla Inn & Club
- Visit one of the many Boca Grande beaches.
Things to do in Fort Myers with Kids
Fort Myers is home to beautiful beaches, the Edison and Ford Estates, shopping and so many other fun activities for families and kids. It’s a great area to take the family because there are so many activities going on in Fort Myers. There are a lot of great attractions in Fort Myers
My kids have a lot of energy to burn off so Jumping Jacks is a great place for our family. We love it there. There are bounce houses everywhere and climbing structures. And it’s very reasonable. If you are looking for a place to have a birthday party, this is a great place as well!
If you love nature, you HAVE to check out this great nature trail in Fort Myers. The Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve has a 6 mile trail and we loved every minute of it. There are so many opportunities to see local wildlife so bring your binoculars! Also, we made a fun nature scavenger hunt game for you to play when you are there.
Coconut point has an amazing mall. We absolutely love it. It’s beautiful and they also have a fun Build-a-Bear workshop there. My kids love picking out their specific bears or stuffed animals and going through the process of building it. It’s definitely a great experience!
Play places at malls are great ways to have free fun! My kids love play places. And the one at Coconut Point is super cute. It is outside, so plan accordingly. The summer probably wouldn’t be the greatest time to plan to spend a lot of time there.
We have so many fun playgrounds to visit around Southwest Florida. But seriously, Lakes Regional Park is one of the best! It’s so much fun! The playground has a train theme and there are two splash parks connected to it. Definitely check it out.
This fun trampoline park is so much fun for kids of all ages. They have so many activities all designed for kids to jump and stay active. And they have a lot of events all year round too! Definitely check them out.
If your child loves to play arcade games, this is a great place to check out! My kids LOVE arcade games.
Miromar Outlets is a great mall to shop at and their play place is a lot of fun for the kids. It is outdoors with a lot of shade. There is also a rock climbing section that requires admission.
This is a fun place to go to roller skate AND play arcade games. Admission and skate rental are cheap too.
The Shell Factory is a unique place that is well known throughout Southwest Florida. There is a big shell shop, petting farm, reptile exhibit, mini golf, food and more! It’s a lot of fun.
There is so much to do at the Imaginarium Science Center! They have a space exhibit, a bunch of fun hands-on puzzles and games, history about southwest Florida, and more! It’s a lot of fun.
Where mini golf meets laser tag! Choose to play one or both of these fun activities!
Another fun trampoline park in Fort Myers is Sky Zone! There are a ton of ways kids can get out their energy by jumping and playing at Sky Zone Trampoline Park. It’s a lot of fun.
The Edison and Ford Estates are gorgeous! This is definitely something worth checking out.
There is a lot of fun things to do at HeadPinz Entertainment Center like bowling, arcade games, and laser tag.
Springtime Farms has a petting zoo and bounce house
There is so much to do at Springtime Farms. There are adorable animals to pet and feed, there is a 70 foot jumping “pillow,” swings, games and more!
Things to do in Naples with kids

- Look at the big, beautiful cypress trees at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary

- Smell the roses at Naples Botanical Garden
There are so many beautiful gardens and flowers to see at Naples Botanical Garden. I love walking through rows of flowers and gardens. The whole family will love it!
- Go miniature golfing at Coral Cay Adventure Golf
Coral Cay Adventure Golf is so much fun! It has two 18 hole miniature golf courses and on select holes, if you get a hole in one you get a free round of miniature golf! They also offer birthday party options.
- Ride the trolley around Naples
The trolley is a fun way to see Naples and you can hop on and off all day at your leisure.
- Take the kids fishing on the Naples Pier
There is no fee to go on the Naples pier so this is a great, free place to go fishing or even walking one evening to see the sunset.

- Splash in the sun at Sun-N-Fun Lagoon
This is a super fun water park that the whole family will love. They have water slides, splash areas for kids of all ages, and of course, a lazy river (my personal favorite).
- InPlay Family Fun is a fun 3 level playground where kids can climb, run and slide. It is a lot of fun for an in-door kind of day!
- Take a Princess Cruise aboard Naples Princess
The Naples Princess offers daily public cruises throughout Naples Bay, Port Royal and into the Gulf of Mexico. They also hold fun events for various occasions and holidays.
- Watch biking action at the Naples BMX
- My Gym Naples has super fun classes for young kids where they tumble and play!
- Catch a movie at Regal Hollywood Stadium 20
- Whiz Kids Naples is an indoor playground with a variety of toys and games. The main room features a gigantic 30-foot inflatables obstacle course.
- Swim and play at Eagle Lakes Community Center! This amazing Aquatic Facility has a heated pool, a children’s activity pool with splash pad equipment, a wading pool, slides and more.
- Go bird and animal watching at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida. Also known as “the great birding trail,” the Conservancy of Southwest Florida is a 2l-acre Conservancy Nature Center that has learning opportunities, special activities such as camps for children, and other unique and fun programs and events!
- Play on a wooden playground at Cambier Park. This is a fun, unique playground the kids will love! The equipment is wooden and it’s a huge area for the kids to run around!
- See birds (particularly flamingos) at Everglades Wonder Gardens! This is technically in Bonita Springs, but it’s a fun place to see flamingos, butterflies and other birds and wildlife!
- Let the kids play on the 4 level play place at Twinkle Twinkle Little Store! It’s free admission and kids play while you shop! Win-win!
- Have fun playing at the SUPER cool playground and splash park at Baker Park. It has equipment that is unique and fun for all ages. There is also a splash park and boardwalk to walk and fish!
- Take the kids on a Pure Florida Boat Tour. Kids are free on Saturdays at 10AM, so enjoy a family day out on the water at a discounted price!
- Play at Fleischmann Park. There is a playground for kids and a toddler playground too! It has a skate park, sand volleyball courts and more!
Things to do in Cape Coral with kids
Cape Coral is so pretty and full of people and families of all ages. There is a lot to do even though it’s a bit smaller than some of the other cities around southwest Florida. Try out some of these fun things to do in Cape Coral with the family.
- Play at the adorable playground at Four Freedom Park
This is a fenced in playground for all ages with picnic tables. There is also a beach along the Bimini Basin.
- Play on the playground at Judd Park.
- Go bowling with the kids at Bowland
There are several locations of Bowland throughout Southwest Florida.
- Make a splash at Sunsplash Waterpark
- Take the kids to play at Camelot Park
This playground is so cute and has picnic tables so you can have a nice picnic. There is also a hiking trail.
- Go skateboarding at Eagle Skate Park
This is a perfect outing for teens and tweens!
- Drop the boat in the water and/or let the kids play at the Horton Boat Ramp.
- Fossil Expeditions in the southwestern Florida rivers and streams
- Jaycee Park in Cape Coral has a great playground for the kids!
We love this playground because it has fun equipment but also there is a big tree that shades a lot of the playground. There are picnic tables and tennis courts too.

- Hike at the Rotary Park Environmental Center
- Burton Memorial Park has a lot to offer the kids.
There are basketball courts, little league fields, picnic tables, and a playground!
